Born in San Francisco and struck with an early case of wanderlust Matt launched
himself into the world at a tender age. Living in Paris he hitchhiked through Africa and
Asia finally thumbing his way to the palm trees and cinematic history of Los Angeles.
While in LA he DP’ed about a million indie films, music videos, and spots. One thing led
to another and he began shooting and directing commercials, making a name for
himself with his beautiful and thoughtful work and winning some cool awards like a
Gold Lion for his work with BBDO on a film about a really big paper airplane. Matt’s a
passionate foodie and an ace in the kitchen. This love boils over into his passion and
innovation in shooting tabletop food. He does not sleep much and believes that there
is no ‘one size fits all’ approach to doing projects.
Matt’s worked recently in China, UK, Chile, Bolivia, New Zealand, South Africa, Spain,
Switzerland, Vietnam, UAE, Argentina, Portugal, India, Brazil, Cuba, France, Namibia,
Thailand, Japan - that’s all he can remember right now. Matt’s a passionate foodie and
a great cook. This enthusiasm boils over into his passion for shooting tabletop food.
Matt’s also really into training his dogs, he's a recreational pilot and has an FAA part
107 Drone license.
He’s been known to stop a tech scout to hit an outlaw taco stand. Lately, he’s been
playing with a sous vide cooker and maybe eating a bit too much meat. Matt’s a
recreational pilot and has an FAA part 107 Drone license too.
